Qatar sends medical aid to Pakistan

By QLNews

Qatar has once again stepped up to support another country amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the Government Communications Office (GCO), Qatar has delivered medical assistance to more than 80 countries across the world since the outbreak of COVID-19.

Earlier in August, The Embassy of the State of Qatar in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan provided medical and preventive aid from Qatar Charity (QC) to Pakistan to combat the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

This came as a demonstration of Qatar's solidarity with Pakistan during the COVID-19 pandemic and an affirmation of the close friendship between the two nations.

Now, Qatar has for a second time extended a helping hand to Pakistan in this regard.

The Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan yesterday delivered medical aid from QC to Pakistan, to support the country's efforts to curb the spread of COVID-19.

His Excellency the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Pakistan Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani handed over the medical aid to Executive Director of Pakistan Air Force Hospital Islamabad Major General Safdar Abbas.

HE the ambassador said he hoped that the aid would help the government of Pakistan in its endeavors to combat the pandemic.

The Executive Director of Pakistan Air Force Hospital Islamabad appreciated Qatar's consistent support for Pakistan, in light of the pandemic, as well as the country's support for Pakistan's healthcare sector as it deals with the impact of the pandemic.

Several diplomats and members of Qatar's military attache in Pakistan joined the event.

Qatar and Pakistan have always enjoyed strong bilateral relations and the two countries have collaborated in several fields to further consolidate their bond.

Since the start of the pandemic, Qatar has been stressing the need for international solidarity and combined efforts to overcome the challenge.

Upon the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the country has generously given medical as well as financial aid to nations deeply impacted by the virus.
