Qatari composer Dana Alfardan produces a song in solidarity with Qatar
Qatari composer and songwriter Dana Al Fardan has created a new song which shows her strong support and solidarity with Qatar during this time of crisis.
The DNA Sounds CEO, who collaborated with a number of local and international musicians, partners and volunteers, said that the ‘One Nation’ song will officially be released in the coming days. Its Arabic edition will have the name ‘Al Yaqeen.’
Here is a link to the song, but the video edition will be released only at a later time.
The creators of the song also released a ‘making of’ video, which is also quite interesting and fun to watch. See it here.

“I believe there’re a lot of fallacies being circulated in the media towards Qatar that doesn’t represent the reality of life here. I’m a product of the education that my State has given me. I was able to engage in music thanks to Qatar Foundation’s efforts to bring the best international musicians in the world to Qatar.
“The state has invested a lot in culture, education and in the human capital to give nationals the opportunity and resources to expand their cultural understanding and stand out at a global level,” said Dana, talking about her initiative.
“As an artist, my job is to show this to the world. My aim was first to send a message of unity and strength to the people of this country with One Nation, and to showcase our love for each other and our community based values that we strongly hold in our hearts,” she added.
While Dana composed the song and sang its English vocals, some of the biggest names in the Qatari music scene — Fahad Al Kubaisi and Essa Al Kubaisi —contributed to the Arabic vocals. Fahad Al Mursel wrote the Arabic lyrics.
In collaboration with Qatar Concert Choir, and under the direction of Giovanni Pasini, many international musicians also contributed to the song.
All contributors volunteered to do this project as they wanted to spread the message of unity and nationalism and showcase the reality of life in Qatar, which is based on brotherhood and solidarity.
Dana Al fardan launched her first album almost four years ago, and since then has been a regular on Qatar’s cultural scene. Qatar Airways acknowledged her talent when her song ‘The Beginning’ was chosen as the official theme song for the Hamad International Airport.
She was later chosen as the official composer for the Qatar Airways Group. Dana has composed music on the occasion of Qatar’s National Day and also been an active part of the Qatar-Germany Year of Culture events which kicked off on February 1 this year.
