In an emotionally charged ceremony, thousands of relatives and well-wishers laid Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani to rest at the Al Rayan cemetery.

Earlier, HH The Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Father Emir HH Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani performed the funeral prayers at the Imam Mohammed Bin Abdulwahab Mosque in Doha.

A host of dignitaries, including Deputy Emir HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani, HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Thani, HE Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Thani, HE Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Khalifa Al Thani, HH Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, Personal Representative of HH the Emir, HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Thani, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Thani, HE Sheikh Jassim bin Khalifa Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, Speaker of the Advisory (Shura) Council HE Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khulaifi and sons of the Father Emir attended the prayers,

Pakistan President Mamnoon Hussain, who was on a visit to the country, along with a number of guests and members of the Diplomatic corps accredited to Qatar also attended the prayer.

The Emir and Father Emir had also received scores of mourners at Al Wajba Palace.
