Some donation campaigns in Qatar for Sudan

Sudan is the midst of a catastrophe with one of the worst flooding the country has seen in recent history.

With inundated streets, ravaged homes, and thousands of livelihoods affected, the country’s officials have declared a three-month state of emergency.

Official data shows that the countrywide flash floods have taken a heavy toll, killing 100, destroying 100,000 homes, and displacing 500,000 persons.

International support has continued to pour in to help reduce the impact of the crisis.

As always, Qatar has been one of the first countries to extend support to the brotherly people of Sudan.

Below are some Qatar-led donation campaigns for Sudan that you can consider supporting:

Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS)

Earlier this month, QRCS launched a fundraising campaign under an emergency response to the recent flash floods in many several parts of Sudan.

The campaign aims to help 3,000 affected families or 18,000 persons in total.

QRCS has tied up with the Sudanese Red Crescent Society (SRCS) for a 3-month project that aims to support families in the flood-stricken areas by providing relief in health, food, and emergency shelter.

Non-food items, such as blankets, kitchenware, hygiene kits, mosquito nets, tarpaulins, makeshift toilets, and inflatable boats to have access to the submerged areas will be given to the Sudanese people impacted by the crisis.

Additionally, the most vulnerable families will receive three forms of assistance: food, cash, and rebuilding of damaged homes.

The last phase of the program will focus on recovery and restoration of normal life. It will cover health services, community awareness, and capacity-building.

To support QRCS in its efforts for the people of Sudan, you can donate online, or send an SMS to 92092 to donate QAR 500. You can also call the donor service number (66666364), or request home collection service (33998898).

Qatar Charity (QC)

QC has been running the 'Peace for Sudan' campaign with the aim of providing shelter and food aid to the flood-affectees in Sudan.

The program, worth QR7.3 million, expects to benefit as many as 75,000 people.

QC field teams would distribute medical and study tents and other shelter essentials, in addition to giving tents to vulnerable families.

The charity urges everyone in Qatar to come forward with their support for the Sudan flood victims, who are in desperate need of emergency aid and help them survive this humanitarian disaster.

To donate, simply go to the QC website or call the hotline 44667711.

Qatar Airways, Talabat, Monoprix

You can support Sudan by simply ordering the Qatar Airways Box for Sudan from MonoprixQatar via Talabat.

Qatar Airways will be carrying the shipments to Khartoum to aid in the relief of the Sudanese people.
