Souq Waqif and Souq Al Wakrah line up events for Eid Al Adha holidays
With Eid Al Adha holidays set to begin on September 1, people staying back in the country are going to have some really fun options to celebrate the period.
Both Souq Waqif and Souq Al Wakrah are gearing up to organise five-day Eid Al Adha Festivals beginning from the first day of holidays, reported Gulf Times.
The two festivals, which will feature an array of exciting activities for the entire family, will run every day between 4pm and 10pm.
“We’re very keen to celebrate Eid Al Adha and bring joy to people during these blessed days. Since Souq Waqif is considered one of the most popular tourist destinations for families and tourists who want to enjoy Eid in Doha, we’re happy to provide them with the festivities,” Souq Waqif Director Mohammed Al Salem was quoted as saying by The Peninsula.
Due to the hot weather conditions, organisers will pitch a huge air-conditioned tent in the western square of Souq Waqif. It will include toys for children with a nominal usage fee. The festival will also have a number of cultural and artistic events, including fine arts and traditional artistic performances.
Souq Al Wakrah Director Khalid Saif Al Suwaidi said they will organise the festival in a unique setting this year, with the opening of Al Wakrah Beach for families.
A huge tent will also be pitched there.
