Primary Health Care Corporation to launch ‘Back To School’ campaign on August 27

Qatar’s Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) announced it will run a ‘Back To School’ campaign from August 27 to September 7.
The campaign’s activities will be held at six healthcare centres — in Al Wakrah, Omar bin Al Khattab, Muaither, Al Wajbah, Qatar University and Umm Salal. Activities will also be held at all public schools and kindergartens.
The campaign will seek to highlight PHCC’s achievement of converting traditional school clinics into smart clinics, along with the quality and range of health services they provide.
Smart clinics will provide integrated nursing and health care centred on students’ health. School nurses will work as health care coordinators and links between school clinics and Qatar’s various health institutions — PHCC, Sidra Medicine, Hamad Medical Corporation and the Ministry of Public Health.
Smart clinics, a part of PHCC’s school health service, is a combination of services that help children achieve a better standard of health, education, culture and social and physical development, through the highest quality service.
The Back To School Campaign will aim to reach the largest possible segment of the community, and targets all school students of all ages, their parents and all public school employees.
The Back To School campaign will feature many activities including educational lectures and distribution of awareness and educational materials through electronic links.
PHCC has taken the initiative to electronically link all school clinics with the health file management network. Not only does it provide quick access to patient records, it also ensures that health information is accurate, complete and up-to-date.
This will allow school nurses to follow up and document the health services provided to students.
