The Ministry of Interior (MOI) announced today, that citizens and residents of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries can enter Qatar from December 6 onwards without a Hayya Card or FIFA World Cup™ match ticket in accordance with standard entry procedures.

The MOI further stated that those who plan on watching the matches live at the stadium and those with match tickets for the Qatar World Cup, are required to register via the Hayya platform prior to entry.

Entry to Qatar for GCC citizens and residents will be permitted through its various entry points in accordance to standard entry procedures as follows:

  1. Entry procedure through airports
Citizens and residents of GCC countries are allowed to enter Qatar without prior registration on the Hayya platform from today, December 6, 2022.
  2. Entry procedure through the land port
Transportation by buses will be available to all travelers through the land port as usual. Parking will be allocated to visitors without a fee.
  3. Entry procedure through the land port using private vehicles
Citizens and residents of GCC countries entering Qatar in their private vehicles will be able to enter the country from December 8 onwards and are required to apply for a permit on the MOI website at least 12 hours prior to arrival. A vehicle entry permit fee will not be required.

The MOI added that these initiatives were taken to reinforce the state’s efforts for visitors to enjoy the Word Cup atmosphere and festivities that accompany the remainder of the FIFA World Cup™ matches. The MOI further stated that this was also part of its efforts to facilitate the entry through all ports for football fans to cheer for the world renowned football players in dedicated fan zones and viewing areas.
