Qatar expected to welcome 5.3 million tourists in 2025!

Qatar's industry is on track to acheive record-breaking growth in 2025, building on the momentum of recent years. According to a new report by Fitch Solutions, the sector is entering a 'new phase of growth', with tourist arrivals expected to reach 5.3 million—up 3.5% year-on-year from 2024’s estimated 5.1 million visitors.
This would mark the highest number of tourists arrivals in the country's history, surpassing the previous record of 2.94 million set in 2015. Since hosting the FIFA World Cup in 2022, Qatar has experienced a surge in international interest, fueled by continued demand from key source markets such as Saudi Arabia, India, Germany, the UK, and the US. The growth is further supported by robust public and private sector efforts to elevate Qatar’s global tourism profile.
Fitch analysts project that this upward trend will continue through 2029, with and expected annual average growth rate of 2.4% reaching 5.7 million arrivals by the end of the forecast period. Rising visitor numbers from the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, Europe, and North America are set to anchor this growth.
The country's active promotional campaigns and strategic initiatives are playing a pivotal role.
During the Web Summit Qatar in February 2025, Visit Qatar signed an MoU with Microsoft to boost digital transformation in tourism. The partnership aims to enhance the visitor experience using advanced technologies, expanding on the success of Visit Qatar’s GenAI Travel Concierge.
That same month, Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara launched the Banana Island Adventure Park, a new attraction offering panoramic views of Doha and adrenaline-fueled experiences like Qatar’s longest zipline, climbing walls, and the thrilling Human Slingshot.
Meanwhile, Russia’s Moscow City Tourism Committee organized a regional roadshow to strengthen tourism ties with Qatar, supported by 14 weekly direct flights between Moscow and Doha. These efforts reflect Qatar’s growing international connectivity and appeal.
Adding a splash of color to the calendar, The Qatar Kite Festival 2025 was held from January 19 to 25 at Sealine Beach, featuring over 60 professional kite flyers from 20 countries. The event, spread across iconic locations
like Hotel Park and Old Doha Port, targeted key international markets including France, Belgium, and Mainland China.
Qatar’s tourism trajectory continues to rise, promising dynamic developments and exciting experiences ahead.
