The fifth edition of the Qatar International Art Festival (QIAF) will take place at a new venue this year — the Cultural Zone of Expo 2023 Doha at Al Bidda Park.

The annual event, which will be held under the theme ‘Environment and Sustainability,’ will run from November 20 to 25.

The QIAF, one of the largest such art festivals in the country and the region, is set to feature a diverse range of artistic experiences.

The festival will boast of 12 distinct events where visitors will be regaled with a rich tapestry of artistic expressions.

Painting and sculpture exhibitions, the Youth International Art Exhibition, a Qatar cultural tour, an art panel talk show, an art conference, masterclasses, creative art workshops, live painting demonstrations, a sustainable and artistic fashion show, a cultural musical evening, networking dinners and an awards night are the events that are being planned.

Rashmi Agarwal, who heads QIAF, said: “QIAF isn’t just an art festival, it’s an emotion. It will welcome and connect artists from all over the world, We expect more than 300 artists, from over 65 countries, to be a part of the event.”

“Great things are always achieved and accomplished by a group of people who trust one another. When everyone is committed to a single goal, teams move faster, and become more innovative and successful. Your path to success begins with your participation. Think big, trust yourself and make it happen,” she added.

The festival’s masterclasses will feature eight sessions — covering a range of topics including unique techniques, technology with art, artificial intelligence with art, colour therapy, musical rhythm with art, skills enhancement for participants and digital art.

Numerous eminent personalities are expected to attend an art panel discussion centred on ‘The science of art, towards sustainability and environmental responsibility.’

Last year, the festival was held at the Katara Cultural Village where it showcased works by 325 artists from over 65 nationalities.
