Qatar Living celebrates its 18th anniversary in style

Qatar Living, the country’s biggest, oldest and first true-blue social network which was founded in 2005, celebrated its 18th anniversary at the Mondrian Doha on Tuesday.

The website, which has grown to become the ultimate Qatari one-stop information portal, with around one million monthly active users, continues to make the lives of everyone who access it a lot easier.

The function, attended by members of the top management team and staff, was an occasion to come together, reminisce and look forward to the future.

Qatar Living’s Chief Executive Officer Haitham Al Haidari said the website had set the bar high since its establishment in 2005.

“Qatar Living has come a long way in the last 18 years and we’ve set the bar extraordinarily high. Although I’ve been with you for only a short time, I’ve met a group of very talented individuals who’re the best at what they do. I’m confident the next 18 years will see us grow much bigger than what we’re today,” he said, to a big round of cheers and applause.

“Over the years, Qatar Living has become an indispensable part of the lives of people — both nationals and expatriates — residing in Qatar, as well as those abroad who are interested in visiting or relocating to Qatar. We’ve managed to play a small, but important role in shaping the online culture in Qatar.

“We’ve been a household name, and we plan to maintain the highest standards in everything we do, and prioritize innovation in order to keep serving the people of Qatar with the best service possible,” said Al Haidari.

Qatar Living Properties (QLP) boasts of the largest listing of properties in the country for rent and for purchase. QLP set up one of the most dynamic stands at the recently-concluded Cityscapes Qatar Exhibition, which attracted a lot of footfall.

“Our participation at Cityscape Qatar was a huge success. We launched three brand new products — International Listings, 360 Tours and Drone Footage — and they were very well received. The three-day exhibition showed how deep Qatar Living’s roots run and how impactful our services are for the community in Qatar,” said Al Haidari.

Public participation has always been at the heart of Qatar Living. Firmly believing that collective knowledge of members is much greater than any individual or guidebook, Qatar Living has traditionally provided people with a platform to share and care.

And with the country growing from strength to strength every year, the scope of Qatar Living is also on the rise.
