To mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month, observed in October, Qatar Living held a breast cancer awareness program for its staff at its office premises on Tuesday. The event, held in collaboration with Nasco QATAR, Sharq Insurance and Naseem Healthcare, aimed at creating awareness about the disease and enforcing the importance of early detection.

The program included discussions on various aspects of breast cancer, including symptoms, early detection, prevention strategies, and treatment options. The session also included a full body check-up and wellness campaign including height, weight, blood pressure and sugar level test conducted by Naseem Medical Centre staff.

Breast cancer is one of the most common forms of cancer among women in Qatar, accounting for 31 percent of cancer cases in women.

Early detection of breast cancer is vital as there are more treatment options and a better chance for survival. Women whose breast cancer is detected at an early stage have a 93 percent or higher survival rate in the first five years. Early detection of breast cancer depends on awareness, screening, and diagnosis.

The event was held as part of Qatar Living’s wellness strategy to promote health and wellbeing for their staff members.
