Qatar Museums announces free entry to all museums in the country until Saturday

Qatar Museums (QM) announced that entry for the public to all museums in the country will be made free of charge from today, until Saturday (May 20), in celebration of International Museum Day.
This year’s International Museum Day — under the theme ‘Museums, Sustainability and Well-being’ — celebrates the vital role museums play in promoting the well-being and sustainable development of communities, climate action and diversity, combating social isolation, and enhancing mental health, through educational programmes, exhibitions, community outreach and research.
Commenting on the celebration, QM CEO Ahmad Musa Al Namla said, “International Museum Day reminds us of the critical role museums play in promoting cultural understanding and exchange. At Qatar Museums, we’re committed to supporting and developing world-class museums and cultural institutions that not only preserve our cultural heritage but also contribute to education, research, and entertainment.”
“This day serves as a reminder of our responsibility to promote and preserve our shared cultural heritage for generations to come. As we celebrate International Museum Day this year, we’d like to extend our warmest welcome to the public by offering free admission to our museums and exhibitions,” he added.
From May 18 to 20, visitors can explore the many exhibitions and galleries free of cost at the National Museum of Qatar, the Museum of Islamic Art, Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art, 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum, and others.
