Qatar to play Australia in Asian Open Beach Volleyball Tour final today

Qatari beach volleyball players Cherif Younness and Ahmed Tijan have qualified for the Asian Open Men’s Beach Volleyball Tour final. The tournament, which is currently underway at the Al Gharafa club, will conclude today.

The Qatari duo qualified for the final by beating Thailand’s Nithorn Monikul and Watchirawit 2-0 (21-10, 21-14) in the semifinals. They will face Australia in the final.

The Qatari side earlier qualified for the semifinals by defeating another Thai side — Nithorn Monikul and Watchirawit Modpha — in straight sets (21-08, 21-17).

Before that, they defeated Bahrain’s Ali Marhoon and Hassan Abdullah Nasser in the round of 16, winning 2-0 (21-15, 21-11).
