Qatar Red Crescent Society launches annual Adahi project
In its ongoing effort to mitigate suffering and assist those in need, the Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has been actively involved in recent humanitarian missions. The society's initiatives range from aiding earthquake-impacted Turkey to delivering vital aid packages to conflict-ridden Sudan.
In conjunction with the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities, QRCS has now initiated its annual Adahi project for the year 1444 AH under the motto 'Humanity first...Your sacrifice brings joy.' This initiative allows donations to be made via various means to facilitate the ritual of sacrifice.

The proceeds will then be distributed to recipients in Qatar and 18 other countries spanning Asia, Africa, and the Balkans. All necessary preparations are in place to manage sacrificial donations throughout the project. The food rations, sourced from legally slaughtered lambs, goats, and cows, will reach 59,736 beneficiaries, with 4,476 located within Qatar.
Three Donation Tiers
QRCS has segregated donations into three categories to streamline project execution:
* The third category encompasses Mali (QR220), Niger (QR270), Malawi and Kenya (QR320), Sri Lanka (QR350), Somalia (QR380), Bangladesh (QR440), Nepal (QR450), and Bangladeshi Rohingyas (QR470).
* The second category includes Sudan (QR500), Afghanistan and Ethiopia (QR550), Qatar (QR670), Yemen and Kosovo (QR880), and Albania (QR970).
* The first category features Syria (QR1,110), Iraq (QR1,250), Jordan (QR1,370), and Palestine/Gaza (QR1,870).
How to Donate
QRCS encourages swift donations, which can be made by calling +974-66666364 (donor service), +974-33998898 (home collection), or +974-44027777 (contact centre). Alternatively, donors can send an SMS to various numbers: ‘1’ to 92552 (QR250 sacrifice), ‘2’ to 92869 (QR350 sacrifice), ‘3’ to 92092 (QR500 sacrifice), or ‘4’ to 92246 (QR1,000 sacrifice). Donations can also be made online here.
In coordination with global partners, QRCS will procure, slaughter, and distribute the sacrificial offerings to recipient families and individuals during the blessed Eid al-Adha.
"QRCS strives to bring joy to communities across the globe, especially those displaced by crises and disasters. The upcoming Eid al-Adha represents an opportunity to reach the most vulnerable populations and for donors to extend their generosity. The act of sacrifice is a ritual of faith with a profound positive impact on the community,” said Faisal Mohamed Al Emadi, Acting Secretary-General of QRCS.

The annual sacrifice project, organized by QRCS before and during Eid al-Adha, serves both religious and humanitarian purposes. It not only simplifies the sacrifice process for donors but also provides essential sustenance to the world's hungry, who may otherwise lack access to adequate food.
