FIFA has officially announced the dates for two major tournaments in 2025, both set to be hosted in Qatar. The FIFA U-17 World Cup will take place from November 3 to 27, 2025, followed by the FIFA Arab Cup, which will run from December 1 to 18, 2025, with the grand finale coinciding with Qatar National Day.

The decision was confirmed during the recent FIFA Council meeting, solidifying Qatar’s status as a premier destination for global football events. Qatar has secured the hosting rights for the next five editions of the FIFA U-17 World Cup, making the tournament an annual affair from 2025 to 2029. Meanwhile, the FIFA Arab Cup will also be held in Qatar for its next three editions in 2025, 2029, and 2033.

H.E. Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Minister of Sports and Youth, and LOC (Local Organizing Committee) Chairman for both tournaments, said on the occassion:

“Qatar will once again bring people together from the region and beyond to celebrate the beautiful game in our football loving nation. The FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025 will capture the imagination of millions of football fans from around the region for a second time, while the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025 offers a wonderful platform for young players to shine on a global stage."

“We look forward to welcoming players and fans alike into our world-class sporting facilities and providing them with a rich cultural and seamless fan experience. We believe in the ability of sports to bring people together and help break down cultural barriers, something that drives our continuous desire to host major sporting events in Qatar,” added HE Sheikh Hamad.

The FIFA U-17 World Cup 2025 will mark a significant milestone as the first-ever 48-team edition of the tournament, featuring a total of 104 matches over 25 days. The competition has a rich history of launching the careers of football’s biggest stars, and this edition promises to be no different. Host nation Qatar will also aim to make an impact, hoping to improve upon its best finish—fourth place in the 1991 edition.

Meanwhile, the FIFA Arab Cup 2025 will feature 16 teams from across the Arab world, with Qatar hosting the tournament for the second consecutive time after its hugely successful 2021 edition. The inaugural FIFA Arab Cup in Qatar attracted fans from across the region and delivered thrilling football action, with Algeria defeating Tunisia 2-0 in the final at Al Bayt Stadium.

With the success of the FIFA World Cup 2022, Qatar has continued to build on its reputation as a global sporting hub. The country’s state-of-the-art infrastructure, world-class stadiums, and seamless fan experiences make it an ideal host for high-profile international tournaments.

More details on stadium venues and ticketing for both tournaments will be announced in due course.
