The second edition of the popular Qatar Toy Festival will be held at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC) from July 15 to August 14, announced Visit Qatar on Monday.

The event’s inaugural edition at the DECC attracted over 75,000 visitors and was deemed a huge hit.

The Festival — organised by Qatar Tourism in collaboration with Spacetoon TV — saw over 25 renowned international brands participate, including Barbie, Blippi, Bluey, Cocomelon, Disney, Marvel, Fortnite, and Transformers.

Visitors also had a chance to savour various cuisines at a number of cafes, food outlets, and food trucks spread throughout the venue.

The event featured a rich set of activities that brought the iconic characters closer to kids and their parents. The first edition, which lasted 25 days, was held under the theme ‘Live the Tales and Enjoy the Games.’

Qatar Tourism’s Director of Shared Services Omar Abdulrahman Al Jaber, during the closing ceremony of the previous event, said they had received plenty of positive feedbacks from the participants and visitors.

“With the first edition of the Qatar Toy Festival, we got more than 75,000 visitors, mostly from families and kids. The people are very happy and satisfied with the programme. We want to make the next edition of the toy festival even bigger. We also want to add more playgrounds for the kids and introduce more activities,” Al Jaber had been quoted as saying by The Peninsula.

While organisers are yet to disclose further details about the festival’s second edition, rest assured it will be much bigger in scope.

“There’ll be another edition next year, and it’ll be bigger and have more games for kids. We’ll try to add more games which’ll let children collaborate with their parents,” Al Jaber had said.
