Qatar updates Covid-19 travel and return policy, effective from 16 March, 7 pm

The Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) declared a set of updates for its COVID-19 Travel and Return Policy.

The policy updates commence from Wednesday 16 March 2022 at 7pm local Qatar time.
Following are the vital updates:
• Nationals and residents from the GCC and EU can use the authorized health information app for COVID-19 operating in their country, provided they who meet the immunity criteria. They will also not need to complete the Ehteraz website pre-travel registration.
• On the event of a pre-travel to Qatar PCR test for GCC and EU nationals and residents is not mandatory, unless the country of departure is listed in the Red Health Measures. Travelers who do not conduct a pre-travel PCR test must have a Rapid Antigen Test at an authorized medical center within 24 hours of arrival in Qatar. Travelers with pre-travel PCR tests are exempted from a Rapid Antigen Test post their arrival.
• The validity of COVID-19 immunity from receiving the COVID-19 vaccine booster dose or post recovery from infection has been extended to 12 months, as mentioned earlier this month.
The changes aim to bring about smooth entry into Qatar for all travelers while protecting Qatar's population from COVID-19 through the swift implementation of certain health checks on travelers entering the country.
All travellers must adhere to downloading and activating the Ehteraz app in order to acquire entery to public places in Qatar, stated the Ministry.
The situation with regard to the pandemic has been fairly controlled and effectively managed. With the relaxation of certain restrictions pertaining to the Covid-19 restrictions occuring last week, Qatar is expected to return to normalcy in the near future.
