The Ministry of Transport (MOT) has completed the first phase of Qatar's groundbreaking Water Taxi project, featuring the Lusail Ferry Terminal and ferry stops at The Pearl and Corniche. The announcement was made at the Qatar Boat Show, held at Old Doha Port with over 450 maritime companies and brands participating.

The Water Taxi project promises eco-friendly cutting-edge transportation systems designed to connect hassle-free with Qatar's public transit network, including the Sila System. Spanning 2,200 sq.m the Lusail Ferry Terminal boasts electric charging pontoons, ticketing and waiting areas, and retail facilities. Phase two will expand to cover key locations such as Katara, Hamad International Airport, and Al-Wakra, with plans for a northern route in phase three.

At the MOT booth, visitors explored digital vessel services and innovative tools like Skipper Plus for boat maintenance. Panel discussions with the International Maritime Organization highlighted advancement ship technology.

This bold initiative not only revolutionizes public transport but also boosts Qatar's tourism profile, aligning with the Qatar National Vision 2030.
