Qatar’s transport modes to fall under one network with the launch of Sila
The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC) has launched Sila, a brand that unifies Qatar's various modes of transportation under one network.
Sila will be launched in phases in conjunction with Qatar Railways Company, Mowasalat (Karwa), Qatar Foundation, and Msheireb Properties, currently consisting of the metro, bus, cab, and tram,
Sila intends to improve the accessibility of Qatar's transportation network by bringing together the country's transportation services.
Qatar's transportation sector has accomplished significant milestones in recent years as a result of innovative products and services pioneered by various transport companies. MoTC will continue its efforts to connect transportation modes through the Sila brand, allowing citizens, residents, and visitors to move around with ease.
Sila will launch a journey planning feature on its app and website in the coming weeks, allowing travelers to plan trips around the country in an integrated manner by searching for the best route and combination of modes of transportation, such as buses, the Metro, Metrolink, trams, taxis, walking, and driving.
The app and website can also be used to find public transportation information, such as station and stop locations, station layouts, timetables, and routes.
Sila will bring together various projects and initiatives once it is fully operational to connect all modes of transportation in Qatar, enhancing integration and offering a seamless travel experience.
Other upcoming initiatives include the introduction of integrated and contactless payment methods, the introduction of new services and modes of transportation, and the promotion of the transportation network through public awareness and marketing initiatives to reach a broad audience throughout Qatar.
