Quest Esports, in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the Qatar Esports Federation, and the Qatar All Sports Federation, officially launched the first-ever Qatar Private Schools Esports Tournament at a press conference held today in Doha.

This groundbreaking initiative aims to bring together private schools from across the nation, providing students with a platform to compete, collaborate, and excel in the growing field of esports. The tournament centres around the globally popular game EA FC 25, with schools registering participants in teams ranging from 16 to 128 players.

The tournament will kick off with online group stages, narrowing the field to the top 8 competitors who will advance to a prestigious live finale. The final event, to be held at a prominent venue in Qatar, will not only celebrate the winners but also highlight Qatar’s growing role as a regional hub for esports.

With a prize pool of 35,000 QAR, including 20,000 QAR for first place, 10,000 QAR for second, and 5,000 QAR for third, the tournament incentivizes skill development, teamwork, and strategic thinking among students.

Speaking at the launch event, Mr. Elie Gemayel, CEO of Quest Esports, highlighted the significance of this initiative:
“Esports is more than just gaming—it is a gateway to the future. It equips students with essential skills like teamwork, problem-solving, and digital fluency. Through this tournament, we aim to inspire schools to embrace esports as an educational tool and a pathway to careers in the digital age.”

Representatives from key government entities emphasized their support for this initiative:

  • Mr. Abdullah Al-Dosari, Representative of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, noted the importance of esports as a complement to physical sports and a vital tool for empowering Qatar’s youth.
  • Mr. Yousef Al-Emadi, Head of Activities Team at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, discussed the role of esports in fostering creativity and innovation within schools.
  • Mr. Ahmed Al-Mughaseeb, Head of Sports Affairs at the Qatar Esports Federation, reiterated the Federation’s commitment to positioning Qatar as a regional leader in the esports industry.

This initiative reflects Qatar’s forward-thinking approach to integrating esports into education and youth development, bridging tradition and innovation to create a sustainable legacy for future generations.

Media Interviews & Networking
The event concluded with a Q&A session and networking opportunity, where media representatives could engage with the panellists and discuss the future of esports in Qatar over coffee and light refreshments.
