Rain lashes different parts of the country, more downpours predicted on Friday
Different parts of the country, including Doha city, received rains accompanied by thunder on Thursday. Qatar’s Meteorology Department has also warned of sudden strong wind and thundery rain across the country.
Social media users have been widely sharing footage of the downpour today.
The Met Department has said the weather condition was likely to prevail until Friday, November 17. Qatar is also expected to be affected by a cold front, with partly cloudy to cloudy weather and chances of rain in moderate to heavy intensity.
The department also warned there were chances of sudden strong winds that may cause the dust to rise, leading to a decrease in horizontal visibility.
Motorists have been urged to take precautions during this period and adhere to safety tips on the road.
During rainy periods, one should move between tracks slowly, reduce speed, turn on headlights, keep a safe distance, stay away from any distractions like mobile phones and avoid submerged roads.
