Registration for 2025 Haj season to open on Sunday
The registration for the 2025 Haj season will open on Sunday, September 22, for citizens and expatriates. The registrations will then continue until October 22, announced Qatar’s Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs on Friday.
Ali bin Sultan Al Misifri, Director of Department of Haj and Umrah at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, said registrations could be made through the Ministry’s official website www.hajj.gov.qa.
Al Misifri, who said electronic raffle would begin immediately after completion of the Haj registration phase, said approvals would be sent to applicants in November.
“We’ve opened registrations for those wishing to perform Haj early this year so that Haj operators can complete all their contracts early. It’ll help them provide better services to pilgrims from Qatar,” he said.
The top official said the programme’s success last year and its positive impact on general operations had pushed them to try it again.
“Qatar’s Haj quota for 2025 is 4,400 pilgrims. The condition for Qatari pilgrims is that the age of those wishing to register for Haj should not be less than 18 years, and they are allowed to register three companions with them,” said Al Misifri.
To apply for Haj, Gulf citizens and expatriates are required to be at least 45 years old, and their period of residence in the country must not be less than 15 years.
“Gulf citizens and expatriates are allowed to register only one companion per application,” Al Misifri said. He noted the importance of registering companions, if any, in the main application to avoid future problems.
The Awqaf Ministry will soon post an illustrative video clip on its social media platforms, elaborating on the registration process via the website.
“The number of licensed and accredited Haj tour operators has reached 27 this year,” said Al Misifri. He also urged people to contact the Haj and Umrah Affairs Department for inquiries or complaints via the hotline (132) during official working hours.
“In the last week of June, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Haj and Umrah announced the start of preparations for the upcoming Haj season. It was done to ensure the best services to the guests of Allah — pilgrims,” said Al Misifri.
