Rev up for MotoGP Qatar Airways Grand Prix of Qatar 2023
The Lusail International Circuit (LIC) is gearing up to welcome yet another premier motorsport event.
The MotoGP Qatar Airways Grand Prix of Qatar 2023, which is scheduled to run from November 17 to 19, is already sold out.
For nearly two decades, MotoGP races under the stars have been a highlight of the sporting calendar. The fusion of speed, skill, and the captivating backdrop of the Qatari night sky has made this event an unforgettable experience.
The 2023 season is a grand tour across 21 countries, introducing the exciting Tissot Sprint Saturday at half-distance for the very first time.
Whether you are a seasoned motorsports enthusiast or a newcomer to the spectacle, here is a comprehensive guide to the action-packed MotoGP Qatar Airways Grand Prix of Qatar 2023.
The Grand Prix will showcase the fierce competition of distinct subcategories within the motorsport franchise.
The FIM Grand Prix World Championship has three main classes of motorcycle racing — Moto3, Moto2, and MotoGP.
Moto3, introduced in 2012, is the starting point for riders on their trajectory to MotoGP. It is held alongside MotoGP and Moto2 races.
Unlike before, Moto3 bikes now use a different, more modern engine. Moto2 and MotoGP are the more advanced categories. MotoGP is the top tier of racing, while Moto2 is one rank below it.
There are differences in how the bikes are customized and built, as well as in the technology of the engine used and the total cost.
Additionally, the MotoGP Qatar Airways Grand Prix of Qatar 2023 promises exciting additions — the Tissot Sprint Race, a condensed version of a typical MotoGP race, offering riders a chance to earn valuable points to boost their championship standings.
The Grand Prix will also feature the Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup, the biggest and most successful platform for young riders on the way to compete in MotoGP. This competition is designed for participants aged 14 to 17, and the rider will compete in a total of five rounds taking place across the race weekend.
