American singer Mariah Carey, who commands a loyal global fan base, surprised attendees of Carbone’s pop-up dinner party in Al Maha Island with a 45-minute private concert on Friday.

The ‘Obsessed’ singer, who belted out some of her biggest hits including We Belong Together, Hero and Fantasy, was playing at Major Food Group’s Carbone Beach to kick off Formula 1’s Qatar Grand Prix.

“The crowd cheered so loud when she walked off that she got back on stage and dazzled them with a special encore of Hero,” said an attendee.

Multi-Grammy-winning, multi-platinum-selling Mariah Carey, known for her incredible vocal range, brought her signature glamour and undeniable talent to the exclusive event.

The high-profile crowd including Jamie Reuben, Dan Ioeb and Todd Boehly, Mikey, Daniel, and Sam Chetrit, Steve Witkoff, Steve Stoute, Major Food Group Co-Founders Jeff Zalaznick and Mario Carbone,  Saad Al Kharji, deputy Chairman of Qatar Tourism, Moutaz and Ramez Al Khayyat of Estithmar Holding and more were treated to a setlist that spanned Carey's illustrious career.

During the performance, guests standing in the front had a secret album of Mariah’s, and when she held it up Mariah was in awe. It was an album not even the artist still had a copy of. She was moved and thanked the fan for being so dedicated and loyal.

Carey’s powerful vocals carried the audience through the night, captivating everyone and leaving no doubt as to why she’s regarded as one of the greatest vocalists of all time.

One of the highlights of the night was when Mariah said the crowd looked so good that she needed to look just as good and had her hair and make-up team join her on stage for a touch-up.
