talabat, the region’s leading platform for everyday deliveries, recently collaborated with the Ministry of Municipality to conduct a workshop focused on enhancing safe and hygienic food handling practices in the country.
The workshop reiterated the importance of sanitary food practices such as measures to prevent cross-contamination, ensure hygienic packaging of food and refraining from the usage and packaging of chemical products with ready-to-eat food items. In addition, clean food separation methods, sourcing food from regulated vendors who abide by strict hygiene regulation, cleansing, packaging and hygienic handling of raw food materials and regular disinfection of food delivery boxes were discussed.
Conducted by Mustafa Anwar, a food inspector and veterinarian working with the Health Control Department under Doha Municipality, the workshop brought together representatives from both the Ministry of Municipality and talabat Mart to discuss strict food safety regulations that should be implemented across the country.
Commenting on the workshop, Francisco Miguel Condeco Caetano De Sousa said, "As a key player in the food and delivery industry, it is imperative that we ensure the implementation of food safety techniques in order to continue offering customers quality products at all times. The well-being of our customers is of utmost importance to us, and we are committed to working jointly with the Ministry of Municipality to strengthen and practice hygienic food safety techniques."
Following the workshop, talabat plans to continue providing training and resources to keep enhancing food safety awareness among its packaging and delivery representatives.
