Earlier reports had stated that Leicester-based Esteem Property Developers were developing the property in Granby Street to house the new shop.
TeaTime, which was launched in Qatar in 2002, has enjoyed amazing growth since then and currently boasts more than 100 branches, including over 50 in Qatar. They also have branches in Oman, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the UAE.
The TeaTime representative, at the time, had said “Food and drinks available will include TeaTime's ‘world renowned saffron tea.’ There will also be healthy juices, pasta dishes, sandwiches and Italian soufflé”.
“TeaTime chose Leicester as its location owing to its diverse population and reputation for being a foodie destination,” the representative had told Leicestershire Live.
TeaTime is the latest Qatari entrant in the UK market. Burgeri and ‘Chapati & Karak’ are the two other Qatari brands available in the UK market.
