
Ticket applications open for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™

Ticket applications for the FIFA World Cup will launch today, 19 January 2022, including ticket offers set to attract fans from the Middle East and around the world to witness a spectacular event to be held in Qatar this winter.
Fans have the opportunity to become part of a once-in-a-lifetime experience by securing their seats and choosing from a variety of enticing options available during this opening phase.
“The first FIFA World Cup in the Middle East and Arab world will be an extraordinary event and together with our partners, rights holders and other stakeholders, Qatar cannot wait to bring fans together to celebrate their shared passion for football, experience a new culture and enjoy everything that our country and region have to offer,” said Nasser Al Khater, CEO, FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 LLC.
“This is a FIFA World Cup for Qatar, the region and the world, and the products launched today reflect FIFA’s goal of bringing the beautiful game to as many fans globally as possible,” said FIFA’s Secretary-General, Fatma Samoura.
“It will be a festival of football that will see fans experience the rich culture and history of the region through the platform of football at top-class stadiums and we look forward to bringing people from different cultures together to live football at the FIFA World Cup,” she added.
The first sales period starts today at 1 p.m. Doha time and finishes on 8 February 2022 at 1 p.m. Doha time. It is important to note that fans can submit ticket applications throughout the first sales period, as all tickets will be distributed once the first sales period finishes.
If the number of tickets applied was to exceed the available ticket inventory for the domestic or international market, the tickets will be distributed using a random selection draw process. All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their applications, whether successful, partially successful, or unsuccessful by Tuesday, 8 March 2022, with instructions and the deadline to pay for allocated tickets.
According to FIFA’s ticketing policy, residents of Qatar (host country) will exclusively benefit from a special price category – category 4 – with prices starting at just QAR 40 each.
Visa cards are required to make any payments for the residents of Qatar and it is the payment solution throughout the tournament. However, other payment cards including are accepted for international fans.
In this opening random selection draw sales period, fans can apply for the following ticket products:
Individual Match Ticket: Tickets for a specific match, are available for all matches from the opening game through to the final.
Team-Specific Ticket Series: For those who want to watch a certain team at every step of their journey in Qatar, starting with the three group matches.
Four-Stadium Ticket Series: FIFA’s new ticketing product provides fans with the opportunity to experience four different matches across four stadiums on subsequent days, thanks to the short distances between stadiums in Qatar.
Accessibility Tickets: Providing tailored facilities and spaces for disabled people and people with limited mobility covering a range of requirements as part of any of the products above
Fans will have another opportunity to secure tickets prior to the final draw for the FIFA World Cup on Friday, 1 April 2022. However, this is a first-come, first-serve sales phase and more details will be disclosed soon.
The ticket sales phase after the Final Draw include the following:
Supporter Tickets: For fans who want to sit among their team’s fellow supporters.
Conditional Supporter Tickets: For supporters who want to reserve a seat for one of their team’s potential encounters in the knockout rounds, including the final.
Qatar 2022 provides fans with the opportunity to attend multiple matches per day during the early stages of the tournament - given the short distances between stadiums. However, this is only possible during the ticket sales phase following the Final Draw. Also, fans will not be able to attend back-to-back matches to allow sufficient travel time between the stadiums.
FIFA has reduced the household limits for Qatar 2022 by allowing each household up to six tickets per match and up to 60 tickets throughout the tournament to enjoy the matches with their friends and family.
Hayya Card (Fan ID)
A Hayya Card is required to enter the State of Qatar, access stadiums (along with a match ticket), and enjoy free matchday travel alongside other benefits.
COVID-19 measures
Health is given the highest priority by FIFA and the State of Qatar - ensuring that the required safeguards are available to help protect the health and safety of all individuals in the tournament.
It is mandatory for all attendees to follow the travel advice from the Qatari authorities and the latest guidance from Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health. All information regarding COVID-10 safety measures is to be announced in advance of the tournament.
