Vaccinations required for Hajj, Umrah are now accessible in all PHCC for free

Hajj is a larger Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca that takes place and all Muslims are obliged to make at least once in their lives if they can afford it. It is regarded as one of Islam's Five Pillars. The Hajj is a journey that includes rites and rituals. The Hajj starts at the Miqat, or Hajj entry station, which is located just outside of Mecca. You bathe, put on Ihram (special white clothing), make the intention for Umra, and begin reciting the Talbiya Du'a there.

All of the vaccines required for Hajj or Umrah are now accessible for free in all of the Primary Health Care Corporation's (PHCC) 28 health clinics across the country. The Department of Communicable Diseases of the Department of Infection Control at PHCC indicated that the Ministry of Hajj in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has noted a number of controls that stipulate this years Hajj.

A person must be under the age of 65 to be considered for this age group. For pilgrims planning to make the trip this year, it is necessary to complete immunization with basic doses of approved COVID-19 vaccines, with a minimum of two doses. Pilgrims from outside the Kingdom are required to present a negative coronavirus test result for a sample collected within 72 hours of their leaving date.

Ali bin Sultan Al Misifri, The Director of the Department of Hajj and Umrah at the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs confirmed the ministry's readiness, as well as all associated units, and Qatari campaigns to make the 1443 AH Hajj season a success for pilgrims from Qatar.

The ministry, in collaboration with the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and the Tawafa Establishment for South Asian Pilgrims, visited the Kingdom with an official delegation to assess the extent of arrangements and facilitation for Qatari pilgrims in their places of residence during the Hajj period. On Friday, June 10, the mission's first delegation left for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to finalize arrangements.

The PHCC emphasized the need of getting vaccines well in advance of Hajj (10 days or more before trip) to avoid some infectious diseases, as vaccinations differ in terms of what is obligatory and what is optional.
