The Department also stated that the weather may become thundery in some places at some times with sudden strong winds.
The wind will mainly be southeasterly to northeasterly direction from light to moderate in speed, reaching strong with thundery rain.
The Civil Aviation Authority urged everyone to take precautions and follow all safety guidelines during this weather condition and receive weather updates only from official sources.
The Met Department suggested the highest temperature on Wednesday would be felt at Abu Samra — 38°C — while the lowest would be at Al Khor (26°C). The weather would be hot in the morning, with scattered clouds visible.

While rain is always met with enthusiasm in Qatar, slippery roads can lead to more accidents. Hence one should exercise caution while driving in the rain. Earlier this year, Qatar’s Ministry of Interior issued some basic tips to drive safely during rain.
Driving in the rain requires more attention and adherence to the necessary safety tips. Leave plenty of distance between vehicles, stick to the lane, reduce speed, and ensure that your wipers are working.

One can also keep these tips in mind while driving in the rain.
* Rain creates slick conditions on roads which leads to skidding. Slowing down is the best way to avoid it. Driving at a slower speed allows more of the tyre’s tread to make contact with the road, leading to better traction.
* It takes about three times longer to brake on wet roads than on dry ones. It’s important not to tailgate. Keep a little more than two car lengths between you and the vehicle ahead.
* Run the air-conditioner to clear the car’s misty windscreen for better visibility.
* Do not use hazard lights while driving in the rain.
