Zaha Hadid Architects, renowned for their transformative projects across various sectors and scales, is poised to create a paradigm shift in architectural design on Qetaifan Island. The firm, under the leadership of the late Zaha Hadid and senior office partner Patrik Shumacher, is acclaimed globally for its avant-garde and pioneering work.

Among Zaha Hadid's pioneering works in Qatar stands the iconic Al Janoub Stadium, a testament to the firm's innovative prowess. The stadium, which was the first in Zaha Hadid's portfolio in Qatar, embodies a tribute to Al Wakrah's rich fishing and pearl diving heritage.

Its design draws inspiration from the wind-filled sails of traditional dhow boats, echoing the region's maritime history. Shaped like the sails of the pearl diver Dhow boats, the stadium's roof symbolises Al Wakrah's cultural roots. The seating stands, ingeniously crafted on the inside, mimic the undulating waves of the sea, fostering a unique spectator experience. The architects at Zaha Hadid are driven by a meticulous attention to the interface between architecture, landscape, and geology. This approach fosters experimentation with cutting-edge technologies and results in unexpectedly dynamic forms.
