WATCH: The sand cats of Qatar
One of the cutest animals you probably didn't know lived in Qatar is the Sand Cat!
The sand cats of Qatar are shy and beautiful. Sand cats communicate with each other not only by meowing like a domestic cat, but by barking like a dog as well!
They are very bashful and only meet with other felines during mating season - preferring to spend the rest of their time inside sand caves. These sand caves shelter them from the sun and allow them to raise their kittens in solitude.
Sand cats usually give birth to three kittens every year. But you may find it hard to tell a mama sand cat from her babies because they both look like kittens!
Sand cats are known to be the "Peter Pan" of felines. They retain a kitten-like appearance their whole lives, giving them the impression that they never grow up!
