This year’s Hospitality Qatar brought together some of the top professionals in the hospitality and tourism sector from around the world to Doha.

Qatar Living had the pleasure of speaking to internationally renowned sports, leisure and entertainment senior executive, Javier Martinez, who delivered a training session on the opening day of Hospitality Qatar 2019.

In his talk titled, “Attraction Theme Park Experience – Enhancing Visitor Experience,” Martinez highlighted ways to develop business models for new products, services at existing or upcoming attractions.

With his expertise as a seasoned Fan Experience Expert, Martinez spoke about the factors that make a holistic visitor experience, while managing marketing, finances, personnel planning, hospitality, safety, and other key drivers and best practices.

The session was particularly insightful as it presented an overview of how theme parks, entertainment, and professional sports merge into one single strategic approach to make the much-anticipated FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 the best event ever.

Martinez has a solid track record of over 25 years of industry experience working across world-class companies including The Walt Disney Company as the Vice President from 2001 to 2014, and Atletico de Madrid Football Club as the Business & Experience Managing Director, from 2014 to 2017.

He currently serves as a Senior Board Advisor/ Mentor at the Global Sports Innovation Center by MICROSOFT, and as a Fan Innovation/Senior Strategic Advisor at the Manchester City Football Club.

Hospitality Qatar, the annual global hospitality and HORECA trade show, is underway at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC) until today.
