Qatar invites performers to join Cultural Activations during FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™
In order to deliver an immersive cultural fan experience, Qatar is inviting artists from across the globe to showcase their talents during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, which will be held from November 21 to December 18, 2022.
The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ cultural activation programme is the first of its kind to be delivered during a FIFA World Cup™ tournament. Through the programme, Qatar is inviting artists to join the entertainment offering during the tournament for an exceptional fan experience.
This is an exclusive opportunity for ALL to be part of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™. Artists of all genders, nationalities, backgrounds, ages and skills are invited to share their art, performances, creativity and culture with the world through the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™.
This is an open call to all individuals and groups to engage and entertain a huge audience by showcasing their unique talents and performances on the fringes of the stadiums. This is an opportunity to shine and get exposure throughout the world’s greatest footballing tournament, your talent will be seen and shared with millions of people worldwide.
Get a chance to amaze and entertain thousands of people as they gather around the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ stadiums before and after the matches. Your journey stretches to the stadium gates where fans are finally ready to cheer for their teams. Along with this great offering it is worthy of mention that this is a paid opportunity. When you play your part in the world’s greatest sports celebration in Qatar, expect a monetary reward that equals every effort you make!
The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) is welcoming applications from all kinds of performers – including visual arts, crafts and heritage, fashion and design, performance arts, theatre, music and film – who are interested in performing at a variety of cultural activations across Qatar during the tournament. You could be a solo performer, singer, magician, face painters, DJ or a group of street performers, cultural performers, music bands, basically anyone with the ability to engage the audience in the best possible way.
There is no limit to what you can offer. From inside or outside Qatar, this is an opportunity for local, regional and international artists from a wide range of arts – such as dance, comedy, theatre, music, circus, fashion, visual arts installations, performances, film and much more – to share their talent with the world.
Successful applicants will become part of the host country entertainment offerings and help to deliver an exceptional fan experience. The artists will also support a range of activities in:
- Outskirts of stadium premises
- the FIFA Fan Festival™
- Fan zones
- Corniche Street activations
- and other events such as the D’reesha Performing Arts Festival in Education City and entertainment offerings in Msheireb as well as metro and bus stations.
Requirements
Performers will need to provide the following information as part of their application:
- Personal and contact information
- Details of their art/practice
- Details about their performance setup
- Performers are also encouraged to upload proposals as part of their application
Successful applicants will be expected to cover the cost of their flights, accommodation, and personal expenses. The SC is working with local partners to provide special rates for accommodation.
