I am not sure which tv show that you r talking abt but wild guess here, maybe its Langkawi Island. Try to browse the website that I mentioned earlier. Maybe it'll help.

City Gal,

We are planning Malay for next year. Just want to ask you, there is a particular beach I have seen on TV show; to reach to it there is some fun Go-Carting option available. Have you been to this particular one? Please tell me the name and location.

I stayed at the Crowne Plaza Mutiara, if you get a pool facing room, it overlooks the Twin towers. There is an MRT station just outside the Hotel, I think it's called Rajah Chulan or sumthing like that. Bukit Bintang is just 7 mins walk from the Hotel and so are some of them night clubs like Rum Jungle, Beach Club, Thai Club.

YOu can visit the Butterfly and Bird Park, KLCC, Towers, National Museum, Golden Triangle, China Town, Little India, National Mosque, TV Tower.

If you wanna go outta KL, try Tioman Island or Genting, pretty nice.

Try Hotel Maya. Very different room settings and designs - ideal for those bored of the standard room design and lay out.

I enjoyed Kucching more than KL. Kuching is around 1 hour flight from KL. Lovely place!! In Kuching I stayed with a Malaysian family - that was just great!!

Hi, Maybe I could give a little tips for you.

1a&b) Golden Triangle - Too busy, traffic heavy n surrounded by shopping mall. Easy xs to food.

c) China Town - Interesting food & cheap, Traffic heavy, Cheap hotels . Business hour start only at 6pm onwards.

*1.Accomodation, You might want to try Sheraton Imperial - Easy xs to many interesting entertainment club. walking distance to HardRockCafe, Food Ctr etc.

tips.. 1.You do not need to worry abt transportation coz there is lots of mode of transport everywhere in KL eg: monorail, LRT, Taxi, City buses.

.......2.Trip to KL will not complete if you didn't visit the National Museum, Istana Budaya,KLCC tower or KL Tower, National Mosque, Dataran Merdeka n Batu Caves.

2) 3 wks I guess..??

3) a)Langkawi Island (by train from KL) - Beautiful Sea, Nice Resort (Bonton),Nice seafood, water sport etc

b) Penang (by ferry from Langkawi) - Busy city, Cheap & tremendeous selection of food (U'll love it!) lively nitelife, good, good, good. Recommended htl - Eastern & Oriental Hotel (five star*)

i would recommend renaissance hotel ... walking distance to the nearest LRT station, next door to hard rock cafe, walking distance to petronas.

we stayed in Shangri-La Golden Sands in penang ... rather old but nice atmosphere and have their own beach front.

dont forget to visit Kek Lok Si temple ...

last visit to Batu Caves was last year ... the place was a mess ... consturction everywhere. I think they building cable car all the way to the top of the steps.

if you are not interested in shopping ... 2 or 3 days more than enough for you.

if you like country site or jungle ... hv u been to Tioman?

We stayed in the above hotel and you will see wild monitor lizzard and monkeys roaming around the hotel property.

You can fly or take train to Penang. We drove from KL to Penang ... but i wont recommend it. Rather boring the scenery of the highway.

Hi Angelo,

1) My recommendation is somewhere near KL Sentral, the transport hub, the LRT(subway), Monorail, Intercity & Interstate Trains. Landed at the airport, you can take the Express Rail Link(ERL) from the Airport straight to KL Sentral for RM35. There are 2 hotels there Le Meridien and KL Hilton. From there, you can use all the means of public transport to get to all places of interest. U may need a map though.

If you love shopping or want to see the real KL NIght Life, then a hotels in the KLCC or Bukit Bintang Area is idle for you.

2)My feel for no.of days. 2 days.

3)It depends on what interest you. Most visitors won't miss the Petronas Twin Towers, KL Tower, Putrajaya-the new & amazing government administrative city, Batu Caves Temple, etc

Penang? You can get to Penang by Train from KL Sentral to Penang. Or you could take a bus (around 4-5 hours drive). My recommendation, get a hotel near the Feringghi Beach. There are at least 10 hotels along that beach. Places to visit- The Beach of course, the seafood restaurant, the Bukit Bendera, the Snake Temple, the Gurney Drive (night life).

Hope that can assist you. Run a search on whatever places i mentioned above.

We went there a few years ago thru Qatar Airways Holidays Package...Tel: +974 449 6969 or visit www.qatarairways.com. We stayed at the Renaissance Hotel with our room overlooking the Petronas Towers...in KL, lots of places to visit, Batu Caves, Bird Park, etc...for nightlife, try the Bangsar area...In Penang, I recommend Mutyara Beach resort, they have lots of activities within the resort including jungle tours, water sports, and there's a butterfly farm nearby...also you could walk around Georgetown for a day...

Enjoy!
