Merry Eid...

So.. Eid is coming up and I felt a bit sad... hardly the amount of decorations or anything as usual...

There are more Christmas trees than signs with Eid wishes... feel a bit sad... how awesome would it be to see a Christmas tree with a Muslim Crescent on it.

I did put up a christmas tree and I've ordered neon signs for the stores for next eid.

Hopefully it will encourage neighbouring shops.

I am so sorry I never came across any decoration of Islamic theme tree..because as far as I believe there is no such concept in Islam...anyways if you are seriously on this..you could probably help the poor people, Charity for students or families who can't effort to buy a book!!! I guess this idea would make you feel more proud and happy. Puttig smiles on faces is nothing but the Chrismtas or Eid celebration. I don't have idea about people in Qatar, yeah I had been their for short time, but doesn't know much about the poority level in DOha?? Any thoughts????

do different themes..might have doves...stars...bows...straw ornaments..my favorite, but can't do it since they are all back home, is my childrens's hand made ornaments that I've collected since they were old enough to squeeze a glue bottle. Not the prettiest tree but certainly the most meaningful because as you pull out each ornament, you remember when it was given..even tho the glitter is falling off and the angel's wings are crooked..

I have been very surprised to see so many Christmas trees here..personally, I would have liked to see more Eid decorations...

As for my Christmas tree...its stays like it always has(had enough trouble getting it up and working!! Had two strands of lights on it, multi colored and within an hour..top half of the tree was blinking blue and yellow and bottom half was red and green..lol)....Next year tho am going to have two trees...one for Christmas and one decorated with a more Islamic theme. Have to admit that trying to find Christmas things was a challenge, but a fun one.

Blessed Eid and a Merry Christmas everyone!
