never ending signals!

By lamea

Yesterday my husband was at the Muntaza signal and for 10 mins the signal didn't turn green. He realised the problem , got out of the car and walked to the first car (at the signal) and told the driver to move the car forward as he had stopped the car so far behind the stop line that the sensors in the signal didnt read any car in front of them. The driver moved the car, the signal turned green!
Many people fail to realise that there are dark black lines (almost engraved) on the road, a bit behind the stop line where the sensors from the signals detect the presence of a car. If the first car is way behind the stop line the signal doesnt detect any car and it WILL NOT turn green!!!!
So drivers pleeeeease dont be over cautious and stop the car AT the stop line and not miles before that!!!

My friends told me a story about that (those lines are sensor pads and are present in all countries).

They also were behind a car who was waiting for the light to turn green so they could turn left and cross the intersection. But because the car was so far behind the sensor pad, the light never turned green. So my friend gently tapped his horn to alert the person to move forward a little. However the person in the first car, who obviously wasn't paying attention must have assumed she was being beeped because the light had turned green and she hadn't moved. So she quickly accelerated through the intersection.......and ran the red light.

some people have thier mind set forever- " It's my way or Highway" - They often fail to do the right thing at the right time and place! Needs triggering :))

darude, the lines i am talking about are before the stop line not after it and they are present on many traffic lights without cameras as well!!!!

Novita i can't imagine why people dont get it in their heads that u shouldnt cross the stop line!!! Even if you are ON the stop line you won't be flashed!!!!

I fear overcautious drivers much more than rash drivers especially at the signals where they often stop at a green light!!!!!HUH!

Those lines are for Cam if you cross that line on Red light you will be flashed.

if you cross that line and stop wait till the light turns red again the cam wont flash.

Those lines you will only find with cam fixed next t signals.

there was a clip wheel chair you saw what happened 3 wheels going over it when lights are red it will flash. THATS NOT SOME CAR DETECTOR PARKED IN LANE OR NOT.

AND SIGNAL taking time to turn green happens around sometimes. at midnight most of the roads are empty no cars and the signal lights keep switching with no cars parked in lane.
