The man responsible for filling dance floors around the world with his medley of euphoric pop-dancehall music made it to Doha last Tuesday night at Black Orchid in the Mondrian Hotel for an extraordinary performance. As part of his Mad Love Tour, Sean Paul knew how to stay relevant as proved by the endless screams accompanying his chart toppers like “No Lie”, “Got 2 Luv You" and “Baby Boy”.

Prior to his concert, he held a ‘Meet and Greet’ event at Virgin Store at the Villagio Shopping Mall, where he was greeted by fans of all ages to sign autographs and take photos. Qatar Living residents also managed to ask the Jamaican-born rapper a few interview questions, which were received by very positive and warming responses.

The concert, which was produced by Iconic Events, was a walk down memory lane as Paul mixed both his old school jams and his more recent records, including ‘Mad Love’ in a way that flowed tastefully. Taking to centre stage in his signature all black attire and fully-tinted shades, he was also joined momentarily by DJ LEGACY, as they brought enough unbridled energy to receive a joyous reception from Qatar’s full-spirited bunch. The crowd-pleasing rapper’s consistent use of steel drums and  diluted dancehall rhythms, made the iPhones and uninhibited dance moves come out in full force. He fully succeeded in reminding us all just how many classic tunes he has up his sleeves, as he also made sure to include 2005’s hit favourite, “Temperature” in his agenda.

The happiness rotating around the concert was equally infectious and nostalgic, and Qatar Living was honoured to be a part of the whole experience and to share it with our community.
