WTF

Sorry, but WTF is wrong with these men?

Everyday I go out and try hard to ignore all those empty stares.

I purposely drive faster or slower so as not to become an animal in the zoo in my own car.

I was actually even getting used to it.

But today was the last straw.

I was in the secondlane in front of a roundabout.

The bus to my left inched forward blocking my view of the traffic coming round the roundabout from the left. So I inched forward too. I needed to see the coming traffic too.

Then I felt the driver looking right, which is my way, which is exactly the opposite way he should be looking. Never had I imagined he would be looking at me.

Then as I looked left at the traffic for a chance to go into the roundabout, I realized that this driver was staring and staring at me.

Why?

Is he so desperate that he has to stare at any available women, in spite of the fact that he has a VERY long line cars waiting behind him for him to move out?!

I can understand the bored workers crammed full in yellow school buses having nothing else to do, staring at the world passing by.

But what's with this driver?

What's the emergency that he doesn't watch the traffic and instead opts to stare at the random woman next to him and give up driving altogether?

I realize I may be overreacting because, being stared at is the first thing you hear about when you come to this country

..and maybe that incident at the Center has made me more jittery...but I can't help it.

Today I just felt i had to rant and let it out.

yalla if you're used to being stared at by a bus full of workers then you obviously have nothing to worry about anymore..:D

don't sweat it. It is rather irritating (not to mention just plain freaky) but eventually we all get used to it or take it as some form of bizarre flattery :)

and i think it will really take some getting used to and will surely catch u in ur off days, but i hope they'll just stick to staring. as long as there'r no rude comments or trying to touch the goods (both his and mine), it should be livable. sometimes ignorance is bliss, and judging from what's available online re porn and stuff and bestiality etc, i'd be more scared if in this kind of social setup where guys cant easily get laid, unlimited access to porn will just give them more ideas (and camels cant blog!). sometimes, depending on the time of the month (we'r still girls with functioning ovaries bah!), it helps to look at a bigger picture - compared to what other girl might go through or have gone through in larger cosmopolitan city, and the crime rates etc, being stared at is smallish concession (as long as it's not gonna kill anyone i.e. Cyclops from x-men, driving in freeways etc). these guys...well, i'll just blame the sun and too much heat..until i learn voodoo of course:))

Internet is no substitute for the real thing. Sexual crimes are high in countries where porn is openly available, so that not going to cut it.

I just think if this guy had had internet beauties to act out his frustrations on he wouldn't have needed to go to such lengths.

Just ignore it Yalla and get used to it. As long as all they are doing is staring, there is no problem. Remember that these guys spend most of their time around men far far away from their wives, the only women they see not completely covered are eye candy. Just don't react and they will usually stare and be done with it.

It is normal n specially from the Indian worker guys. They even do it to us Qataris :P.. Once I was with the wife waiting for a signal light to turn green. This Indian guy walks btw the cars to cross the street n then stops in the middle n just stare heavily into my car at my wife.. I was like WOW, he has guts :P So I opened the window n shouted in front of all "What about taking a pic?! Come n ask for her number too?!!" N the strange thing that the guy looked at me like "What did I do?!!". He did not know even that he was staring. For sure my wife almost killed me :(

But who can blame a married man, who was sent away from the wife for so long, for staring at any woman he sees?! However, if it happens by a Qatari or a western then I will have to say "Hell, run lady, It's another psycho" :P
