WATCH: Qatar Living wins Microsoft’s Digital Transformation Award 2019
Microsoft recently recognized Qatar Living for its strong focus on adopting the latest technology as part of its digital journey.
Qatar Living, which is the biggest digital platform in the country, serving over one million active users each month, received Microsoft’s Digital Transformation Award 2019.
The Microsoft Digital Transformation Awards recognize those organizations and entities that are playing a leading role in driving successful digitization initiatives that lead to better engagement of customers, empowered employees, optimized operations and reinvented products and services.
Lana Khalaf, General Manager, Microsoft Qatar said, “[On this occasion] we recognize the success of those organizations that have taken a leap in their digital transformation journey to achieve more.”
“The Qatar vision 2030 aims to transform the country into an advanced society that is capable of sustaining its development and providing a high standard of living for its people. Technological innovation is an integral part of this effort,” she noted.
Khalaf added that companies that received the honors “are remarkable examples of how the intelligent cloud and the intelligent edge can be leveraged to innovate, and get ahead of the curve to gain a competitive advantage in a digital-first world.”
The Managing Director of Qatar Living commented on the achievement, “As part of our digital transformation, we recently migrated the Qatar Living website onto Microsoft Azure to not only run on a secure and scalable cloud platform but also to future proof us for the next wave of technologies. Thank you, Microsoft for your great support in our digital transformation journey to enhance the Qatar experience for those living in, visiting and interested in Qatar.”
Other entities that also won the Microsoft Digital Transformation Award for 2019 included: Ministry of Transport and Communications, Hamad Medical Corporation, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, General Authority of Customs, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Justice, Public Prosecution, Al Jazeera Media Network, Qatar Foundation, Ooredoo, and Doha Bank.
