The holy month of Ramadan is under full swing and Qatar is all glammed up with Ramadan themed decorations and activities and events for everyone.

Since Ramadan comes with a host of spiritual obligations, it is best that we prepare well. In addition to stocking up on day to day Ramadan essentials, families with children need to come up with alternative plans to make the holy month exciting for the little ones.

If you are looking for fun ideas to keep children entertained during Ramadan, click here.

Iftar time with little children can get a bit challenging. Children need constant entertainment and the daily requirement to be on their good shoes for an extended period of time can be a little taxing.

For your convenience, we have compiled a list of places where the children can play around while you break your fast. Here’s a list of places where you can break your fast outdoors in Qatar with your family.

Museum of Islamic Art Park (MIA Park)

MIA Park is a popular picnic spot and during Ramadan, it is an excellent place to break your fast. The park has ample space for children to run around and play in addition to play areas and water fountains. You can bring your mats, tables and chairs along with your food to MIA Park to enjoy an iftar complemented by spectacular views.

The park is also in close proximity to Abdullah Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center (Al Fanar Mosque) that offers Taraweeh prayers.

Facilities: Prayer rooms, washrooms, food kiosks, food trucks, restaurants and outdoor parking

Attractions for children: Children’s play areas, trampolines, water fountains and ample garden space for running around.

Al Bidda Park

One of the largest parks in Qatar, Al Bidda Park is well facilitated for families to break their fast during Ramadan. The park is well equipped with gazebos, barbeque pits, picnic tables and benches for a hassle free experience during iftar. For larger gatherings, the gazebos and barbeque pits can be pre-booked on the Al Bidda Park app.

Children can run around and enjoy the play areas, water plaza or amphitheater while you enjoy your iftar overlooking the majestic Westbay skyline.

After breaking your fast you can enjoy a leisurely stroll while listening to the recitations of the Qur’an being played over the loudspeaker. In addition, every day during the month of Ramadan, Hotel Park will be conducting Taraweeh prayers at 7:40 pm at zone 8. For a complete list of activities, visit the Hotel Park Instagram page.

  • Come prepared with your own food and drinks to break your fast. Do not forget the water and dates!
  • Bring some extra toys for the little ones to enjoy while you break your fast.
