A musing after the festive.….!
Woke from a dream it seems, the reminiscence still lingering around……
It was a great time with scores of people across the world came together, that we don’t get to see very often!. It was lovely to see how this land greeted, welcomed, and taken care of its fans, 12 years in the planning and all came together wonderfully, now that is steeped in history how opulent was it delivered…… amazing !
As the SC slogs.. ‘Deliver Amazing’ ….yes, together we delivered, we delivered amazing…!!
It was a big big party atmosphere and we certainly got that, because it was relentless bringing it together ever since it was announced in Zurich that Qatar will host the 2022 FIFA World Cup, in Middle East for the first time in the tourney's history, albeit those stirred critics.
Putting in lots of efforts, time, and strain finally the big day arrived the 20th of Nov, and Al-Rihla got kicked off, she rolled with pride & reverence till made way for Al Hilm, her successor on the final day. Fans celebrated, celebrated to the zenith of enjoyment, all came in with flawless governance.
It was of course fun filled, excitement packed with lots of next level experience, though was tiring and exhausting, tonnes of fatigue.
It was all decorated out there, the roads, the buildings, every structure, every object, even the moving ones had something to show up the festive, every pole in the city had a flag flickering…… ohh what a sight it was, ….hoo.. those dancing clowns, those trumpets, drums & frilly dolls marching down the streets in merry-andrew way late into nights… a sheer delight !!
And today when I see the city strips down with all those build-ups slowly disappearing and colours fading, an agony burning deep inside, I wept with joy when it came, and I wept yet again but in pain, as it goes.….and its all done…!!
Yet I feel proud, I was part of it…!
