Your not judging people? I beg to differ? So u r telling me u ran into most lebanese people? Stating that most r stuck up and and arrogant is judging people? How many how you met, just out of curiousty? To state that your hoping to meet some "good" lebanese people so you can "change" your idea about them, who being arrogant now? Im sorry im not looking for an argument but both ur posts are really offensive?

By Rashid_666• 14 years 10 months ago.
Rashid_666

Maybe I met the Arrogant ones. Maybe I ran into the stuck up ones. I was just sharing some experience. I am not judging people. I hope to meet some good lebanese people around here and chage the idea I have about them.

Rashid, I don't agree that the Lebanese have a superiority complex.... its just that they are more refined & cultured (atleast the educated ones) than rest of the Arabs....so probably they are PROUD of that, but there is a difference between 'being Proud' & 'Being Arrogant'...... and I for one haven't met an Arrogant Lebanese, Yet!...cheers....ZM

Rashid..its a bit hard not to offend a nation when u generalise them into two categories ..stuck up...not straight forward...i find it really hard to beleive that "most as u say fall into those categories...Generally when people say that it ususally means they have met 10 or so lebanese people in their life who they have identified these issues with and genralised it with "All..so and so are the same"

When u really have met most of the lebanses people in the world or lebanon..then maybe i might take ur opinion seriously...

I mean i can start generelising about where ur from but i dont think the nation deserve it...just b/c someone from one nationality behaves in a certain way..theres no need to turn it into the whole nation...

When r people gonna stop being rascist and generalising in this forum..all u hear is "westerner r blah blah blah....Asians r blah blah blah...arabs r blah blah blah...

if u have had s specific problem with a person by all means mention it even their nationality but dont say all of them r like that....

I really don't wanna offend anyone here especially lebanese people. I've met lots of them overseas and I see some of them here. Most of them (I did not say all of them) are stuck up and think they are Superior to other Arabs. Can you guys explain it? I am very open minded guy and I don't mind discussions as long as it will not cause hate. Lebanese guys are not very straight forward and the girls are way too stuck up. I hope I did not offend anybody here.

Hey,

I am from Pakistan, but I have lived almost all my life in the Gulf region. In general, lebanese are nice people. Probably the nicest among ALL arabic speaking. My next door neighbour and my best friend here in Saudi Arabia is a Lebanese. And over the last 3 years he has been there for me and my family. Although I have heard lots of stories about lebanese people, that they are smooth operators or that they play dirty politics behind your back, I am yet to have a bad experience with them. Some of my good friends in Dubai & Bahrain are lebanese.

Cheers....ZM

my boyfriend is half lebanese half canadian, and he is proud that he is part lebanese...i don't see anything wrong about him being lebanese...in fact, i love him for being proud of his heritage...it takes one educated person to respect others and most importantly himself....the reason why the world is divided is because of so much hate and discrimination...if only all people, regardless of race, heritage and religion will accept the existence of others who have different beliefs, religions, culture and heritage than their own, then perhaps this world will be a better place for everyone...

i love my boyfriend, lebanese or not...he is a person with so much dignity and am proud of him...

I cant believe that Lebanese are always bickering with each other. As an Lebanese woman who grew up in Australia, I am proud to say I am Lebanese. In every culture theres the good the bad and the ugly but i take my hat off to al the lebanese people who have lived through many years of war and no one can bring them down. In the west if we have a catastrophe the whole country shutsdown meanwhile the lebanese people have endured so much hardship, sadness, trials and tribulations and continue to do so if that means some of them turn out a bit "bad",(and beleive me I have come across some) then dont blame them or put them down, but think about what they have gone through in their lives, especially if you are Lebanese and had the privledge to live in a comfortable life outside of Lebanon.. Give the Lebanese people a break man!!!!

If u have encountered some bad lebanese people, dont socialise with them...that comes with every culture but dont put then down.

Theres nothing wrong with socialising with other cultures but if u forget who u r and where u come from.. Go the LEBS.... I for one will be seeking out the Lebanese people when I come to Qatar.....

Hey Guys...even if we have our differences, surely it makes a lot of sense to befriend fellow compatriots if only to share in the learnings and experiences we all go through as we establish ourselves in a new location! I'd love meeting guys/gals from all over the world and would love to meet my fellow Kenyans as well.

You all know how difficult is to find the apartment, with good people to share with, with the appropriate furnitures and PRICE ..

Thanks for your help ... in advanced

thnx for the CS course in system shutdown, I wa just about to foget my soft. eng. course and thnx to you its all coming back now :P

As for the church, its located neat marriot hotel, just tell the taxi driver to take you to marriot hotel once their theres a small roundabout in front of the hotel, look to your right and you'l see lots of cars, it will be easier if you choose a phlipino taxi driver, they know better. By the way, are you to church to meet girls, coz thats what most lebanese bacherlors do .lol

I dont want this thread to turn into hate towards lebanese, but everyone knows that lebanese life style is different than any other arab country, thus the people who live such a life style have to become different. Its not arogance, but a way of life. AS for the accent, I guess people love it becuase it doesnt have that roughness in it, and the combination of french with english makes it even cuter. Some Arabs see if as bad thing and accuse us of denying our arab heritage, but then again half of the khaliji conversations are filled with english and indian words that have penetrated the conversation and become part of daily dialog, I mean DREIWER, ie driver in qatari, cataloj ie catalog...at least lebanese use the correct french word in their conversation and not a twisted version of it.Bottom line is, different cultures diffenrt people, u love them, hang out with them, you dont love them...just avoid them...Everybody's happy

its George here,

as i said before, i came here 3 days ago, and i made some friends when im working, but the reason that im searching for lebanese friends, is so simple, we lived in the same country, same language "LEBNENEH" wlek fi a7la mnel lebneneh !!!!! ?? we may graduated in the same university, we may spend a night in the same nigh club, or restaurant, we even may be relatives ..... !!! common !! do u think that u can hang out with a Lebanese like u can hang out with an other person with another nationality ?!?! i have 3 Indian workers next to me, they are great, good personality and funny, but i can understand 2 words over 10 words of what they are speaking ... el lahje taba3on gharibeh !!! so for hundreds of reasons i prefer to hang out with a lebanese, guy or girl, and YEAH we should be united in here, Lebanon needs us, we need to be more powerful, so we can return later on to Lebanon . . .

3 days in here and i find it so hard for me... so i need good Lebanese's help ..

Thank you ... Alla ma3o lebnen :-p

Dear All,

Kind regards.

A little about myself, my QL name is Greman, I am presently in Doha, Qatar. I represent European Market Research Center (EMRC) head office in Brussels, Belgium, www.emrc.be. We usually Organize International Forums on many different subjects but mostly on Agriculture.

Presently, we have broadcasted an event to hold on the 3rd of May, 2007, in Rome, Italy (you can check for details on the website) and we are seriously preparing. We usually invite people for participation or for those who may be aware through the media, we do welcome their enrollment.

Now, the request is, I am faced with a task to invite Participants from Qatar and other part of the Gulf but I am not very familiar with the region and would really like to build on that.

The Event is an Agric Business forum and a lot of relevant subjects will be entertained among International dignitaries (Presidents, Ministers and Ambassadors) and prominent Business men from around the world, whom have already enrolled for participation. So it is going to be very good grounds for sharing of ideas, investment opportunities and also partnership.

There is this feature call award/gala night where golden awards are conferred to special Personalities in front of the whole gathering. Those awarded will gain more international recognition and their projects will be given more consideration and will be subjected to one-to-one discussions specially organized, with more privileges, stuff like that...

If there is any one who is interested in participating or who can give me more information (highly appreciated) on my invitation processes please write me a private mail or reply to this post, please.

Best regards once again and thanks a lot for your anticipated positive and soonest response.

can't agree with you more either! :)

I am proud of my nationality... and wouldn't change it for nothing in the world..my best friends are Lebanese as well, so is my family and my blood..

I, however, don't think that, we should run to fellow lebanese thinking that just because they are Lebanese, they will be friends.

In my past job as well as in my current one, I have only been stabbed in the back by compatriots!! It hurts, it hurts so bad.

My friends now are Philipinos, Jordanians, Egyptians, French AND of course Lebanese...

I mean, i hear fellow lebanese saying the same thing, greek people saying the same, ausies saying the same, whats with that mentality by the way, i have 2 best friends, who are lebanese, like me and althought Im from MATEN and they are from MINYEH, which I know nothing about, beleive me i'd die for them and do whatever I can to help them if they ever need me.not coz they are lebanese, coz they r my friends. i just don't get this: I dont like to meet people from my own country...WHAT?!!!!!!!!does it make you feel special when ur with people of other countries or you're ashamed of your nationality and your background and you're so desperate to become westerners. its easy just go to the embassy, eny your citizenship, they'll take away your passport, then you can choose any naitonality you want to be part of and make friends...that is: if they accept you!!!
