The FIFA Committee has said that the group stage for the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar will happen in Doha in the month of April 2022.

Due to the uncertain situation of the Covid-19 pandemic, the intercontinental play-offs are set to take place in late June. So, it is not really known which countries are to be among the 32 participants.

The very first opening match of the FIFA World Cup is scheduled on November 21, 2022, and will feature some of the world’s best footballing stars playing in the tournament. The unique event is also is an excellent opportunity for Qatar to display its rich heritage. The group stage is also expected to allow fans to attend more than one match in a day owing to the close proximity of the venues.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino quotes, “We are looking forward to the opportunity to bring people from different backgrounds together. We will enjoy being all together in one place.” He also further applauded Qatar for being a welcoming host and working consistently on improving the fan experience. Infantino particularly praised the country for being proactive in taking enhancing growth in different areas and especially taking extra care of human rights and workers’ welfare.

There’s massive anticipation for the World Cup 2022 as it is set to witness a historic football event in eight modern stadiums in Doha.
