Gear up for Qatar National Sports Day at these martial arts classes

Looking to spice things up this Sports Day? How about trying a martial arts class in Doha? Martial arts can be an excellent way to stay fit, not to mention fantastic for increasing confidence and improving your coordination, flexibility and self-defense skills.

With Qatar’s Sports Day right around the corner, if you’re looking to shake up your fitness routine, training in martial arts is great at activating entire muscle groups for strength gains or fat loss. 

For your convenience, we have compiled a list of martial arts classes to try in Qatar.

Doha Kickboxing Fitness Terminal

What’s available: Mixed Martial Arts, Karate, Taekwondo, Boot Camp, Kickboxing and fitness classes.

Sessions: Classes are available for both kids and adults. While classes are mostly mixed, there are separate classes for men and women. Ladies can request for a female instructor. All sessions are carried out as a group class with an instructor. Personal training is available upon request.

Rates: From QAR 300 for 4 sessions per month.

Sports Day offers: Offers for 3 months, 6 months and 12 months registration

Location: Msheireb and Lusail

Royal Martial Arts

What’s available: One program introducing you to the basics of martial arts covering the following areas:

  • Kickboxing
  • Boxing
  • Taekwondo
  • Self-defense
  • Wrestling
  • Brazilian jiu-itsu
  • Tricking (a combination of martial arts and gymnastics)

Sessions: Classes are available for both kids and adults. Most classes are mixed. Ladies only classes available on Sundays and Tuesdays. All sessions are carried out as a group class with an instructor. Personal training is not available.

Rates: QAR 1500 per term (each term comprises of three months with two sessions a week)

Doha Sports and Arts Academy

What’s available: Mixed Martial Arts, Taekwondo, Kickboxing, Thai Boxing, Kung Fu, Street Fight, Karate, Aikido and Jiu-Jitsu. The academy has other fitness and sports classes such as gymnastics, swimming and football as well.

Sessions: Classes are available for both kids and adults. While classes are mostly mixed, there are separate classes for men and women. Ladies can request for a female instructor. All sessions are carried out as a group class with an instructor. Personal training is available. Classes are carried out by National Martial Arts Champion Rami Al Banna.

Rates: From QAR 600 for 1 month

Sports Day offers: Pay for 3 months get 3 months free

Location: Al Messila, Pearl and Lusail

Qatar Mixed Martial Arts (Qatar MMA)

What’s available: Mixed Martial Arts, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, Taekwondo and Karate

Sessions: Classes are available for both kids and adults. While classes are mostly mixed, there are separate classes for men and women. All sessions are carried out as a group class with an instructor. Personal training is available upon request.

Rates: From QAR 400 per month. Each month includes 12 sessions. Rates vary depending on activity selected.

Location: Abu Hamour and Al Gharaffa

The Cage Sport

What’s available: Thai Boxing, Boxing, Taekwondo and Jiu-Jitsu

Sessions: While classes are mostly mixed, there are separate classes for men and women. Ladies can request for a female instructor. All sessions are carried out as a group class with an instructor. Personal training is available upon request.

Rates: Between QAR 500 – QAR 700 per month

Sports Day offers: Pay for 3 months get 1 month free

Location: Salwa Road

United Martial Arts Academy International (UMAI Qatar)

What’s available: Kung Fu, Wushu, Karate and Kalari (Kerala martial arts)

Sessions: Classes are available for both kids and adults. Mixed classes are available in all branches except Wakra Creative Center. Wakra Creative Center is a ladies only branch. All sessions are group classes with an instructor. Personal training is available upon request only at the Muntaza and Mansoura branches.

Rates: From QAR 300 per month

Location: Muntazah, Mansoura, Abu Hamour, Al Muftah Village at Wakra, Wakra Creative Center, and Wukair Ezdan 23

What’s available: Mixed Martial Arts, Muay Thai, Bazilian Jiu-Jitsu, DOT and Boxing 

Sessions: Classes are currently available for only kids and men.
