Doha Festival City keeps getting bigger and better.

This time around, it is good news for Qatar’s activity-lovers as an outdoor leisure trail has opened to the public.

Mountain bikers, joggers, cyclists and walkers now have free access to the Doha Festival City’s (DHFC) unique outdoor facilities.

The 3km ‘Outdoor Leisure Trail,’ which surrounds the QR6.5bn mixed-use development project, features a running and walking path and an adjacent cycling lane with technical trail features designed for mountain bikes.

The Outdoor Leisure Trail caters to both runners and cyclists, and is designed with fun and fitness in mind.

The mountain bike cycle track, designed by British company Architrail, has a number of different route features and offers various surfaces with inbuilt gradients and obstacles.

The running track also has exercise stations along the route, allowing both casual and serious runners to exercise and enjoy the development’s green spaces.

The Mountain Bike Trail consists of 13 Technical Trail Features (TTF) suitable for beginners and more advanced cyclists wishing to improve their mountain bike skills.

Each TTF is designed to simulate challenges one would encounter on a Mountain Bike Trail. Features include Grade Reversals, Berms, a Pump Track, Wedges, a Rock Causeway, Drop Offs, Rock Gardens, Water Causeway, EcoPlastic boardwalk, Mist Tunnel, Rollers & Jerms, Rock Climbing, and a wrap up section to put all skills to the test.
