Qatar East-to-West Ultra Run is not a race, but rather a challenge to run and cover the whole distance. However, runners can cover as much distance as possible.
Ultimately, every participant is awarded a medal since the main purpose of the race is to encourage the community to exercise and promote a healthy lifestyle.
The first Qatar East-to-West Ultra Run took place on December 15, 2017, with 25 runners, organized by “Qatar Ultra Runners” team. Out of 25 runners, five runners were able to complete the whole distance. However, in the 2018 edition, the number of participants was increased to 100.
This year, the event was brought to the next level with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports and Qatar Sports for All Federation.
Qatar Ultra Runners team is working side by side with Qatar Sports for All Federation to raise and promote awareness regarding the concept and philosophy of ‘Sports for All’ and to expand the practice of sport within the society.
