Question about my wife
My wife has an angle on a position in Qatar. We are in the process of divorcing (currently separated, but there is no "legal separation" in our state). I am curious what the potential restrictions might be on her ability to get a work/residency visa.
Specfically I am curious about:
1. do we need to have the divorce finalized for her to get a visa
2. can my 15 year old daughter go live with her on a family visa if we are divorced?
3. will all this be easier if we stay married (legally) snd I stay in the US?
I appreciate any assistance.
edited to add that I fully support my wife in getting this job and my daughter living with her if that is what she wants to do. Not looking for a way to stop her.
Your post with all its queries is indeed a very unusual one.
First, it is not all clear if it is just your wife who has found a job here or both of you have. If it is just your wife, then the question of she being divorced or being married may just not arise. As for your daughter staying with your wife, this may be possible but you she will need to check with her employers on the rules and regulations.
Lastly, it appears the Qatari Riyal is acting as "powerful glue" and the only factor that is keeping you and your wife bonded together. Then let it be that way.
