Working Visa with an expunged misdemeanor
Hello everyone,
I got a job offer from my an international school in Doha last night. Unfortunatly, I do have an expunged misdemeanor from about 15 years ago for trasspassing. The trasspassing incident was not violent related or harrasment, it was due to damages done by my dog at the local park when he got out my backyard in the middle of the night. I got the misdemeanor because I couldn't pay the full amount of the damages and I had to do community service. I did get my teaching license a few years afterwards; also, I have been teaching at an international school in Japan for the past 13 years. I just want to know if this will hinder my appplication process for my work visa. The school I appleid to is aware of the situation but they said they will get back to me in a week or so. I'm just anxious about the situation.
I appreciate your help on this matter.
Thank you.

Suggest you wait for a reply from the school. I guess they may be discussing your issue with the authorities in Qatar. They will advise you once they hear from them.
