Al Wakrah Port is just one of the many lovely locations in Qatar that exemplifies tranquility at its finest. It seems so unbelievable to be strolling around the port while admiring the azure ocean. Al Wakrah has a long history of being a fishing community. Here, you can see the fishing boats that are moored at the harbor and the ones that are scouring the seas for fish to feed the town with. For many residents, casting a net in Port Al-Wakrah is a time-honored pastime. You may always relax by the sea and enjoy a recent catch.

The port contains 180 boat docks, 188 boat stands, and 368 moorings. The port offers all the amenities required by fisherman and owners of cruise boats and ships, including parking spaces that can accommodate vessels of various sizes. These include docks that are afloat and have access to water, power, and lighting. These are in addition to servicing facilities and navigational aids that follow the most recent systems and standards from throughout the world. For the benefit of fishermen and other seafarers, there are firefighting and CCTV camera systems, boat landing chutes, refueling stations, and administrative offices.

Many locals consider casting a net at Port Al-Wakrah to be a timeless activity due to the area's long history as a fishing community. Admire the fishing vessels that are berthed at the harbor and look for those who are patrolling the waterways to bring the town fresh seafood. Even if you're unfortunate, spending the day in Al Wakrah admiring the breathtaking sea views is a rewarding and unwinding activity.

How to get here?

Driving is the most convenient way to arrive to Port Al-Wakrah; get off Al Wakra Main Street and drive towards the water until you reach Al Meena Street. In addition to your personal vehicle and taxis (including ride-hailing services like Uber, Careem, etc.), you may also use the Doha Metro Red Line South to go from Doha to Al Wakrah. Currently, Qatar Rail provides free rides on Metrolink buses M128 and M134 to the Al Wakra South Area.

The following bus lines operated by Karwa can also get you from Doha to Al Wakrah: 109, 119 and 129.

When you get at the marina, you'll see a lot of angles waiting for the next catch with their hooks in the water.
