Disney Princess—the Concert

Get the opportunity to watch a live open-air performance of the iconic Disney princesses with a live orchestra by Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra for company. The star-studded concert will include performances by Broadway and West End’s artists and feature renditions of Disney’s hit songs including Frozen’s Let it Go and Moana’s How Far I’ll Go. The concert is also expected to include stunning animations and stage effects. Definitely not to be missed if you are a Disney fan.

Qatar Balloon Festival

It is a rare opportunity to watch more than 50 hot air balloons dot Qatari skies and the Qatar Balloon Festival offers just that. The spectacular display of colorful balloons from different countries alongside entertainment, kids’ activities, food trucks and kiosks is definitely a day to remember. You can even book yourself a hot air balloon ride and choose to watch the city from up high above. Don’t miss this 10-day festival!

Date: January 19-28

Location: Old Doha Port (external green area behind the Grand Terminal)

Festival timings: 4 - 10 pm

Mahaseel Festival

Hosted by Katara Cultural Village, Mahaseel Festival aims to promote local Qatar-made products that have been sourced directly from local farms and producers. The Mahaseel festival is in its 7th edition and this year there are more than 28 farms, six companies, and many nurseries participating to provide fresh produce to end consumers.

Date: January 19, to January 28, 2023

After January 28, the festival will continue every Thursday to Saturday.

Location: Katara southern area (Opposite St. Regis Doha)

Timings: 9 am - 9 pm

Torba Farmer’s Market — Season 6

Currently in its Season 6, Torba Farmer’s Market is a great place to spend a leisurely Saturday afternoon shopping for local farm produce and browsing through some of the best local businesses the city has to offer. The vendors keep changing weekly and you get to discover new small businesses ranging from arts & crafts, baked goods, coffee & beverages, pet food, wellness and lifestyle brands and more. There are live cooking stations to whet your appetite and cool workshops to keep you and your little ones engrossed. Visit Torba’s with the entire family and enjoy everything the market has to offer.

Location: Next to Oxygen Park and Multaqa (Student Centre) in Education City

Simply Jazz

This delightful show is certainly recommended for a fun-filled evening with the kids at the mall. Simply Jazz has a saxophonist, Sandy, on stage to make you groove to his jazz tunes. The Mirror Man and the dinosaurs parading around the mall are sure to keep the little ones amused and entertained. Additionally, there are other great activities held at the mall courtyard.

Timings: 6.30 pm to 9.15 pm

Location: Tawar Mall courtyard

QatART Handmade Market & Workshops

QatART Community is hosting a series of craft workshops and a handmade market for children on the weekends. The workshops are fun, interactive, and informative. Stay tuned to their Instagram page to find out what skill or craft they will teach next. Past workshops included seed paper-making, seed bomb, leather key chain-making workshops, string art, glitter art, and more.

Atelier and Craft: Embroidery (inspired by Forever Valentino exhibition)

This is a part of four workshop series inspired by the Forever Valentino exhibit. This workshop is meant for ages 12-16 and young designers can learn embroidery techniques for beginners. Designs can be practised on embroidery hoops and would learn the craft from the best.

1st Doha ITF World Tennis Tour—Junior

Qatar is hosting the ITF World Tennis Tour for juniors in Qatar.  

Date: January 23—28

Location: Khalifa International Tennis & Squash Complex

Doha Stars Artistic Gymnastics Championships

This event is hosted by Qatar Gymnastics Federation.

Date: January 26 — 28

Location: Federation Hall, Messila

Elite Finals beach volleyball event

The Elite Finals beach volleyball event is set to take place this week, organized by Qatar Volleyball Federation.

Date: January 26 — 29

Location: Aspire

Fencing Grand Prix—Epee

The FIE Grand Prix Epee 2023 will be hosted in Qatar by Qatar Fencing Federation. The category will be for Epée Senior Individuals.

Location: Aspire

Education City Triathlon series–Race 2

The 10th season of the Education City Triathlon Series is launched by TriClub Doha in collaboration with the Qatar Foundation. The swim portion of this triathlon will take place at the Qatar Academy Primary at Qatar Foundation Education City, and the bike and run courses will be on closed-off internal roads in Education City.

This triathlon is open to triathletes of all ages and experience levels.

Joe Ashkar at Billionaire Doha

The stage is set for an amazing weekend with Lebanese star Joe Ashkar’s performance at Billionare Doha. The ambiance and the Extravaganza Arabic night is sure to create the right vibe to kickstart the weekend on the right note.
